You Are Not Your Thoughts

Lets Talk About It
You are a spirit. As a spirit you live in a body. And you possess a soul. Your soul is your thoughts, feelings and personality. Due to Adam and Eve our bodies and souls have been corrupted by sin. Which entails that demons and evil forces have access to our bodies and to our mind. In today's verse of the day it speaks on the fiery darts that comes from the Wicked One. Today we're gonna breakdown what these fiery darts are and how to combat them when they come.

The Plot Before the Attack
I wanna preface and state that we MUST know that the devil CANNOT read our minds. “Well how does he know all of our weaknesses and temptations?” Well… to put it blunt, he is your biggest hater. The devil and his workers of iniquity have watched you from birth. He observes the things that make you fall short. He looks at the people and friends that draw you away from God. “Well why does he care so much about me? I'm just one person” Well in fact you aren't just a ‘person’. You are the direct image of God. We all have a set path and destiny ordained by God and the devil will use every strategy possible to draw you away from your true destiny. John 10:10 explains that his main goal as prince of the earth is to steal, kill and destroy.
The Attacks of our Mind
We are overseers of our thoughts. We MUST SEPARATE ourselves from our mind. Our brains are idea highways. The vehicles on the highway are a variety of ideas and thoughts, good and bad and in between. YOU are the patroller of your mind. YOU oversee each and every thought and idea. YOU choose whether to pay attention to a specific vehicle of thought or to let it pass.
An example of a fiery dart would be; you receive the thought to fight fire with fire and curse someone out in retaliation. The wicked one simply is just sending the idea your way. Now it is of your free will to feed into the idea or whether to take heed to the holy spirit and move as like Jesus. Another example of a fiery dart would be that you're having a bad day and you get the thought, “Wow today was the worst, maybe I should grab a drink before I drive home”. Now let's say you decide to feed into that vehicle of thought. You can wake up in the hospital paralyzed from an accident. All it takes is one perfectly timed attack to completely take you off course.
Keep In Your Heart
We need to keep it written in our heart to walk within God’s will. When we do this no matter how much the adversary may watch our shortfalls and try to attack us. When we walk in God’s will he will give us the discernment to understand what thoughts are of him and which thoughts are of the enemy. When we separate ourselves from our mind and realize that we are overseers of our mind and we are not the mind itself. We will begin to heighten our spiritual awareness. Which will lead to you being able to hear God’s word clearer. and will lead you to understand Satan's various attacks and strategies.
