Peace within Troubled Waters

Lets Talk About It

Jesus is the prince of peace. He is direct. He is certain and he does not provide confusion. God provides us all with clarity. In our lives we are guaranteed suffering and pain. We are guaranteed seasons within troubled waters where you feel as if the storm is unbearable and never ending. However it is in these moments where you are made strong.

There are two issues that arise in us as a people when we go through these seasons of tribulation. Firstly, while we are in times of issues in and out of the faith we worry and rely on ourselves and not the heavenly father. We put more power in the problem and ourselves then we put in God. This leads us to bearing too much and causing us to lack in peace. Secondly, when we finally come out of seasons of tribulation we tend to give ourselves too much credit and distance our selves from the Lord. ‘I got the job’ ‘I’m responsible for my raise’ ‘I’m the reason I’m here today’

The focus of today’s reading is how we can depart from the spirit of worry and stop relying solely on ourselves. Instead, by leaning on the Lord, your spirit is put at ease, allowing you to experience peace even in the midst of trials.

Peace While Arrested (My Testimony)

I was arrested in the summer of 2024. When I was first apprehended there were a million different emotions and thoughts going through my mind. I was scared. I was angry. I was anxious of what was ahead. And I was even a bit disappointed and embarrassed because my girlfriend at the time foresaw this issue but my male ego got in the way.

But something supernatural was happening. With every step I took to the police car it was as if a veil of confidence came upon me. Not the type that’s full of male bravado but the type of confidence and faith that everything was going to be okay through Christ. It was very interesting because prior to this I was basically a new born within the faith. I was reading proverbs daily and writing studies on it daily. Occasionally I would listen to gospel music. And at the time prayer was still very foreign to me. But deep down the real me, my spirit knew exactly what to do, I was in constant prayer.

I was next to a homeless person who was intoxicated throwing urine at the wall. I was with a regular offender who had smoked K2 in the cell I was in. I was constantly hearing stories from the arrestees on their jail stories and how they got there. Even in the midst of these unknown treacherous waters, I had peace. I knew in my heart that I was going to get out and I was going to see my lady.

After over 24hrs of maybe an hour of sleep and having a bowl of dry cereal, I was delivered from my trial with charges dropped and no record.

What Can I Learn From this ?

First and foremost you must understand that you will go through seasons of change, hardship, struggle and so much more. You cannot just pray and hope that you will never receive friction in this world. Issues are guaranteed. The key is to understand how to have peace while going through life’s curveballs. And how to obtain that peace is through Jesus Christ. Talk with him. Form a relationship with him and he will be there for you like no other. God Bless!
