Be a Seeker

The Life of a Seeker
A seeker is one in search of something. A person in motion. A person in action. A seeker is one who has a question and finds an answer. A seeker is one who wants opportunity and goes out to find one. A true seeker doesn’t concern him or herself of the difficulty nor the time it may take to obtain something. Their focus is to gain knowledge on what they seek. To grow closer. A seeker for God receives favor because God Values a seeker.

God Favors a Seeker (Personal testimony)
A seeker for God receives favor because God values a seeker. I myself found that out in my own unique way. Even though i was raised in the church in my later teen years i lost that spiritual innocence and no longer was a true and active seeker for God. I only did things out of obligation. I would only go to church when my family went. I would only read the bible when my family did. I only prayed when i saw my parents prayed. In the blink of an eye I lost that connection with God. Why ? Simply due to the fact that i no longer was a seeker for Christ. I sought after video games, sports and having fun. I was no longer a seeker.
Later in my life i had met a special person. I’ll never forget when she had asked me clear as day to keep my heart open to God. She told me to ask and seek after a connection. For the last Two years prior to this moment it had never occurred to me to reach out to God. To ask to see him.
One night while intoxicated I laid in my room and asked God to reveal himself to me. Two nights later I recieved an encounter that truly changed my life. And it was that day I learned that God is always there knocking on the door. But it is up to us to open the door and let him in. God was working and doing things in my life in ways that I wasn’t even aware at the time were his doings. Carrying me out of depression, delivering me from food addiction, exposing myself to my pornography addiction. All these things he was guiding me with while I was walking through life with a blindfold. Thinking it was the universe and my own will that got me through these things.
When you read the bible it shows countless times through the twelve disciples, the woman at the well, job, etc. God truly admires his seekers. It is to his seekers where he will reveal himself in supernatural ways. Where a way is made out of no way or he will give you special gifts to help multiply the fold.
If you are in a bit of a rut when it comes to your connection with God. Its time to swallow your pride and look to him. Stop looking towards yourself to conquer all your problems. We are not built to do such things. No matter how hard or uncomfortable it may seem look unto him. Be honest and within humility and open your heart.
